MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Win-Tron Racing confirmed today that Floridian Daniel Sasnett will make his ARCA Racing Series debut in next weekend’s Lucas Oil 200 driven by General Tire at Daytona (Fla.) Speedway.
Sasnett, a native of Auburndale, Fla. will drive the team’s No. 33 Chevrolet as a teammate to sophomore driver Gus Dean who will drive the team’s flagship No. 32 GREE Cooling Products Chevrolet.
Longtime Motorsports crew chief Todd Myers will serve as Sasnett’s crew chief for the 80-lap race on Saturday, Feb. 10.
“I’m looking forward to Daytona next weekend,” said Sasnett. “The door was open to jump in one of the Win-Tron Racing cars and I took advantage of it. The team had a lot of speed during the ARCA test at Daytona in January and I’m hoping that
continues for my ARCA debut.”
Sasnett himself boasted speed behind the wheel. A former longtime Richard Petty Driving Experience instructor, the 39-year-old participated in the two-day at the “World Center of Racing” in mid-January with Fast Track High-Performance Driving School, where the veteran local racer ended the weekend 12th quickest overall out of 62 drivers that participated.
“The test was a real confidence booster for me,” added Sasnett. “It was the opportunity to add more drafting experience to my resume and draft with some really good race cars that I know we will be racing next weekend.”
Florida-based Standard Sand & Silica will back Sasnett’s efforts.
Founded in 1945, Standard Sand & Silica is a leader in the manufacturing of silica sand.
Standard Sand & Silica supplies the Southeastern United States & Caribbean, along with Central & South America. Their products focus on the processing of sand materials for a variety of purposes, including ball field clays, golf course sands, fertilizer filler, grout and mortar sands.
Team owner and principal Kevin Cywinski says Sasnett’s ability to get up to speed and be comfortable in the draft and talking with other drivers in the garage will prove to be extremely beneficial as his ARCA debut inches closer.
“Daniel has a quiet demeanor, but he is not afraid to ask questions to Gus, myself or even other drivers in the garage,” said Cywinski. “His experience at Daytona in the past should aid him in the quest for a good finish. We’re bringing him a really good piece and look forward to a good showing for both of our cars next Saturday afternoon.”
