GMS Racing NCWTS Eldora Recap

Auto Racing NASCAR NASCAR Camping World Truck Series

Justin Haley, No. 24 Fraternal Order of Eagles Chevrolet

START: 19th

FINISH: 9th

POINTS: 8th

“Finishing ninth at the end of the night is not bad at all. I didn’t do a good enough job keeping up with the changing track through the night. The dirt modified feature races I run are only 20 laps so it’s tough when you’re running 150 laps here with pit stops. The track was slick, especially running around on 15% throttle. Now it’s on to my favorite track next weekend, Pocono Raceway.”

Johnny Sauter, No. 21 Allegiant Chevrolet

START: 29th

FINISH: 16th

POINTS: 1st

“We’ll take what we can get here. We struggled for most of the race. I just couldn’t do anything and then we finally got to where I could start passing. It’s tough to do anything here, it’s not my type of racing and I haven’t been able to figure it out. I’m just glad to be done with this and move on to New Hampshire in the Xfinity car with the 23 team and then get back to truck racing at Pocono.”

Dalton Sargeant, No. 25 Performance Plus Motor Oil Chevrolet

START: 32nd

FINISH: 27th

POINTS: 11th

“I’m not sure I can say I enjoyed my first time out at Eldora (Speedway). We had a really tough day and it was all about survival and staying out of the way, but I wish I could have gotten a better finish for the No. 25 team. There was just nothing I could do handling-wise to get there. I’ll be happy to get to Pocono (Raceway) and get another shot at a top-10 finish with the Performance Plus Motor Oil Chevy.”

Cody Coughlin, No. 2 CoughlinChevrolet.com Chevrolet

START: 24th

FINISH: 28th

POINTS: 10th

Quote:

“That was a night. We just couldn’t get the truck to handle right. Jerry (Baxter, crew chief) and the 2 team worked hard to try to fix it the best they could with the track conditions. I’m ready to move on to Pocono (Raceway). It was cool to see Tony (Stewart, track owner) though and talk to him about the track and what to expect.”
