Concord, NC (June 7, 2018) – Tucked away in the shadows of Michigan’s scenic Irish Hills, Leilani Münter, will make her first career appearance at Michigan International Speedway on Friday, June 8 for the running of the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards ZOMOGO 200.
Embarking on an expanded personal series schedule, Münter, driving her now familiar bright green No. 20 VeganStrong.com entry for Venturini Motorsports, will make her fifth of eight scheduled series starts on the season.
“This has been a dream season for me so far. I’m in the car more than ever and having so much fun this year learning all these new tracks,” says Münter, who finished a career best eighth in the season opener at Daytona.
“Last week it was Pocono, this week it’s Michigan. I’m really enjoying myself and becoming more comfortable and confident each week I get behind the wheel. Every week seems to be a new experience but thanks to my team and crew chief, Frank Kimmel, I’m adapting and getting better.”
“These are good times. With more races, come new experiences. Over the years we’ve raised sponsorship and concentrated on running Daytona and Talladega for the exposure value. But thanks to the support of VeganStrong.com I’ve been able to expand my schedule and take on these new challenges. I’m excited for Michigan!”
Münter, a native of Rochester, MN, has made 14-career series starts since 2010. After Michigan she’ll continue her season schedule at Chicagoland Speedway (June 28), Pocono Raceway (July 27) and the series finale at Kansas Speedway (October 19).
Friday’s ZOMONGO 200 event from Michigan International Speedway will be air live on MAVTV.
On-track ARCA action begins Friday with practice from 9 – 11 a.m., followed by General Tire Pole Qualifying at 2 p.m. Friday afternoon. The Michigan event is scheduled to get underway Friday at 5:30 p.m. ARCAracing.com will provide live timing, scoring and chat.
