They say there is nothing like coming home and Erica Enders along with the rest of the Elite Motorsports organization couldn’t agree more. Enders and team head to Houston for the 5th stop of the NHRA MelloYello Drag Racing Series this weekend.
The 31st Annual NHRA Spring Nationals will be held April 20- 22nd at Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, TX.
“Royal Purple Raceway will always hold a special place for me because this is where it all started,” Enders said. “I have been racing here since I was 8 years old in the Juniors and had my first National Event win here in Super Gas to really launch my career. Seth Angel and family run a fine facility and I love racing here. I’m a proud RPR Alumni.”
The Freeman family, owners of Elite Motorsports and team, are from just across the Texas-Oklahoma border, so this is a ‘home’ race for all involved.
“The Houston race is always special, but this year we have even more up our sleeves. We are debuting our Pro Mod program here at the Spring Nationals. We’ve been testing both (Pro Mod and Pro Stock) cars non-stop since we left Vegas and we are ready! We’ve made some significant changes and believe we will be in the mix for another great Raceday Sunday in Houston.”
Friday, April 20, FOX Sports 1 (FS1) will televise one hour of qualifying at 9:30 p.m. (ET). Saturday, April 21, two hours of live qualifying at 1 p.m. and Sunday, April, 22 final eliminations will be a three hour live coverage show at 2 p.m. (ET).
