Bubba Watson Kevin Kisner
Bubba Watson’s win in the DELL Technologies Match Play Championship was doubly satisfying last week in Austin, Texas.
Not only did Watson play flawlessly in the last days, Saturday and Sunday, to dispatch Kevin Kisner, 7 and 6 (I will candidly admit that, as long as I have followed golf, the match play scoring system still confuses me); more impressively, perhaps was the semifinal win over Justin Thomas, who won virtually everything in 2017, including the FedEx Cup and Player of the Year.
To sum it up, not only did Bubba Watson win the second World Golf Championship of his career, but in doing so, he turned away arguably the best golfer over the last 18 months in the penultimate match. Doubly satisfying, indeed.
The PGA Tour stays in the State of Texas this week for the Houston Open, also known as the Tune-up for The Masters.
