But here we are, as we have one more player deciding they will opt out of the season. Cain will sit at home and collect his checks for the 2020 season.
Lorenzo Cain is the latest MLB to decide to opt out of the 2020 season. Cain joins, Los Angeles Dodgers’ David Price, San Francisco Giants’ Buster Posey and Washington Nationals’ Ryan Zimmerman on the list of high profile names to opt out. Cain is the 16th player in total to opt out of the season.
“Lorenzo Cain has informed us that he will not participate for the remainder of the 2020 season,” Brewers general manager David Stearns said in a statement. “We fully support Lorenzo’s decision, and we will miss his talents on the field and leadership in the clubhouse.”
