If you have not figured it out by now, the Cleveland Browns are all in on making it to the Super Bowl.
The Cleveland Browns signed pass rusher, Jadeveon Clowney, to a one-year deal that is worth up to $10 million on Wednesday.
“It meant a lot, man,” Clowney said to the media on Wednesday of Cleveland’s pursuit. “It means you’re wanted by somebody. You can tell that [if] somebody really wants you, they’re gonna use you the right way, so that was another big part of me making my decision. They wanted me and when you’re wanted by somebody, you can’t just turn it down like a relationship.”
The 28-year-old Clowney went on to say to the media…
“I’ve been getting double-teamed an awful lot in this league, in my career,” with a grin on his face. “I’m looking forward to playing with somebody dominant on the other side in Myles Garrett who can draw a double-team. Maybe I can go one-on-one more.”
Clowney struggled in 2020 while playing for the Tennessee Titans, finishing with just 19 tackles and zero sacks in eight games before suffering a season-ending knee injury in November.
Injuries and not performing to the expectations of being the number one overall pick has been something that Clowney has been having to deal with mentally and physically his entire career.
Clowney has only played one full season in seven seasons in the NFL and has yet to have a double-digit sack season in his career.
New beginnings, a team with a new attitude and a chance to be apart of one of the greatest NFL stories and teams, has given Clowney new hope, a new focus and has “experts”, analyst and fans starting to whisper the possibilities of the Cleveland Browns making it to their very first Super Bowl ever!!!
